Yeah, it’s the same problem in music.  My first degree was in piano performance.  When it came to teaching gigs, no one gave a shit if you got an A in counterpoint class.  It’s a North American preoccupation … so many of us were brainwashed into thinking that the sacred university degree is the *only* ticket to a career.  In the performing arts, it an even bigger lie that students have been sold.

  5. cloudgazerstudios said: That is super disappointing. If you get A’s in every class, you probably have an easy grader or are not challenging yourself. I found my education history never comes up at all these days, only my recent body of work and clear progression over time.
